The project consists of four sub-topics: “Studies on the Northeast Frontier in the Han Dynasty”; “ Studies on the Northeast Frontier in Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties”; “ Studies on the Northeast Frontier in the Sui and Tang Dynasties”; “Studies on the Theory of the Traditional Empire Frontier”. The project has mainly focused on issues related to the northeast frontier from Han to Tang Dynasties, sufficiently tapped relevant materials and carried out specific and detail-oriented studies on the object of northeast frontier.
