“The Influence of Lu Xun’s Culture Choice on the Chinese New Literature in Recent 100 Years” deeply discusses and explains three topics from Lu Xun’s culture choice and the new cultural construction, the relationship between Lu Xun's cultural thought and the new literature in the last hundred years to the contemporary value and significance of Lu Xun’s culture choice. Through the analysis of Lu Xun’s culture choice and its influence, the project extracts series of cultural propositions and practices that closely relate to China’s social development and provides references for cultural construction of Chinese society in the new era. The project also offers a successful paradigm for modern literary creation especially under the context of globalization where China is considering how to face with both traditional Chinese culture and the Western culture, how to construct socialist culture as well as how to deliver novel ideas through Chinese cultural communication. It is another major project supported by the National Social Science Fund of China for Professor Zhang Fugui after finishing his 2010 National Social Science Fund Project of “The Studies of the Regional Culture in the Northeast China”.
