Jilin University North Wind Literature Society is a learning student society, originally known as “The Fifth-Age Literature Society”. “North Wind (Shuo Feng)” stems from Cao Zhi’s poemNorth Wind (Shuo Feng Shi),in the poem there says “I look up to confront the bowling and whistling of the north wind, in my heart I cherish the memory of the capital of the Wei. How I wish to ride on a steed, speed upon the wind and head straightly back to Luoyang.” (“仰彼朔风,用怀魏都。愿骋代马,倏忽北徂”。) There implied two symbolic meanings in “North Wind (Shuo Feng)”. One is a physically strong and clear-headed north wind that can urge people stride forward continuously. Another is a metaphor of a new literature force is rising from the north frontier. The same name journalNorth Wind (Shuo Feng)is a college-level journal and is inscribed by Mr. Gong Mu (Mr. Zhang Songru).
